Hurst This was written for us.

Grimsby Townmanager Paul Hursttold BT Sport: "I am satisfied. Very extremely satisfied. Before we move on I would like to express my condolences to Solihull as well as Neal Ardley. I'm sure it will be their turn in the near future.

"I told you that going into the game that I wasn't thinking that the extra time would impact us. Fantastic character.

"We were too anxious at the beginning of the game. We played for the moment, rather than the match. I had keep them in mind of the things they've done.

"Again we talked about the significance of subs and their role in to get us here. It's a sub who is the one who scores the win.

"It's supposed to be. I told the players. Some things just happen. It's all just a bit crazy.

"It's amusing. Jordan Cropper [who took the long throw which led to the winning shot] might not have been able to play today.

"There's very little rest and turnaround, we've somehow got to get a squad for the EFL. We'll give that a good go as well."

Ardley My players gave everything

Solihull Moors manager Neal Ardley speaking to BT Sport: "Listen, each team had plenty of opportunities. Finals always come with a small margin. If you take a look at the winning goal of their team that came off of our player's head and hit the back post.

"It's the moments in which you are constantly asking questions. In the end, they won. I don't believe that either team deserves to be able to either win or lose. However, it's what you get. It's a finale and this is what the play-offs are about.

"Grimsby did a great job against us. They're a very good team. They set up to keep us out. We had plenty of opportunities to score and be victorious. They did have chances. The game was a difficult game, but I knew that it was going to be.

"I was aware that the final was going to be a matter of small margins. For the incredible group I've assembled, the margins have gone against us.

"It's the play-offs, and that's the focus. It's exciting, however, we came in third with scores of 87, and we had a great season all the way through. But it'll always come down to one game.

"Unfortunately they gained momentum and won the game. Thanks to them as well as Paul Hurst, he's a fantastic person. In fairness, they've had to go through three more times to get here.

"You've got to take your hat off to them, but my boys gave everything. They couldn't give any more."
